Scars

Skin is scarred by many causes. These include acne, burns, surgery, accidents or chicken pox. Scars can make people more self-conscious.

At Laserase Croydon we offer 4 different laser systems, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), UVB phototherapy, long pulsed Nd: YAG and Er: YAG lasers, to ensure optimal results in the treatment superficial blemishes, depressed scars and pale (hypopigmented) scars.

The short wavelength intense pulsed light system (IPL) produces a broadband light, which can be used to eliminate superficial skin irregularities. The long pulsed Nd: YAG laser treats scars in the deeper layers of the skin. For even more deeply etched scars, the Er: YAG laser can be utilised for laser Skin Resurfacing using an Er: YAG laser. This advanced high power laser removes the upper layers revealing the fresher, more youthful, skin beneath. UVB phototherapy is ideal for the treatment of pale (hypopigmented) scars.
