Thread veins (telangiectasia) are small superficial red, purple or blue veins which may appear anywhere on the body, but most commonly on the face and legs. Thread veins occur when the vein dilates and become large enough to be visible through the skin. Laserase Croydon offers two different laser systems, Intense pulsed light (IPL) and long pulsed Nd: YAG together with sclerotherapy to ensure optimal results. The short wavelength intense pulsed light (IPL) system is used to eliminate superficial thread veins and rosacea. The long wavelength Nd: YAG treats both superficial and deep red, purple or blue veins including haemangiomas and arteriovenous malformations. Sclerotherapy is used to treat larger vessels by injecting a sclerosing solution with a very fine needle directly into the blood vessel.
